Feeling incredibly grateful as I step into a well-earned “staycation” in my absolute favourite spot on earth—my backyard—surrounded by the people (and pets) I cherish most. This year has been a wild and wonderful ride, packed with 90% highs. I’ve had an amazing season of speaking, and I want to extend a sincere thank you to my clients, audiences, and support team. Your encouragement has meant everything.
Over the past seven months, I’ve been zigzagging across the country while still managing the home front. And yes, a few 10% curveballs showed up uninvited (don’t they always?). I danced around them, leapt over a few… but I haven’t had the time to truly sit with them. That’s what this break is for. I’m unplugging completely—no emails, no doomscrolling, no notifications. Just me, a journal, a good book, with no agenda other than simply restoring my being and being well.
Each summer, this memory comes to mind. A few years ago, my phone was stolen on the second day of a tropical vacation. After the panic wore off, I was left with absolute bliss, reminding me how much I had leaned on tech to fill the empty space. Ever since, I’ve made it a ritual to disconnect during holidays. So now, every vacation = a full unplug. And it’s the best decision I make, every time. My wish for you this summer is to spend your vacation unplugged and fully present where you are. Do what you need to do so you finish your vacation, saying, “That was an awesome vacation; I did exactly what I wanted and needed to do."
