Each year, as we slowly see the winter fade into spring, the Daffodil Principle always comes to mind. I am more mindful of it this year, as it relates beautifully to my theme of Grow.
Â
The story behind the principle is educational, inspirational, and, most of all, simple. For those unfamiliar with the Daffodil Principle, it encourages you to move towards your goals and ambitions one baby step at a time and enjoy and celebrate the experience along the way. It makes learning a lesson of celebration instead of a cause for regret.
In 1958, one woman planted 50,000 bulbs, one at a time, and learned how to do it correctly over the years. This helped her produce an extraordinary, beautiful, and inspirational outcome. The story's moral is that good stuff can happen when you take action every day and learn how to improve along the way.
How does this principle relate to us? Its concept applies to many areas of our lives. Do you want to lose 10 lbs, go back to school, organize the garage, or purchase something you have wanted for a while? If you have an idea, start, plant your seeds along the way, and over time, watch it grow into something amazing.
